PEERAGE CAPITAL WELCOMES SANDY MACKAY

Trevor Maunder, Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer, would like to extend a warm welcome to Sandy Mackay as Peerage Capital Group’s new Vice President, Corporate Development.

In this newly-created, transaction-based role, Sandy is responsible for contributing to the acceleration of Peerage’s various growth initiatives. He will play an integral role in the the long-term investment and capital allocation decisions of the firm, both in terms of the existing platforms, as well as new initiatives. In this role, he will also take on significant transaction execution responsibilities.

Sandy’s background is in mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and corporate development.  He spent six years supporting the Partners of Blair Franklin in their M&A advisory services business. At Blair Franklin, Sandy gained significant experience in public and private M&A, fairness opinions, valuations, and project finance advisory mandates. Following his tenure at Blair Franklin, Sandy held two senior corporate development roles in the waste management sector: first with TSX and NYSE-listed Progressive Waste Solutions, leading to its eventual sale to Waste Connections; and most recently with private-equity backed GFL Environmental.

Sandy is also experienced as an independent M&A and project finance advisor, and as a sessional lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Rotman Commerce program. He earned a Masters of Financial Economics degree from the University of Toronto in 2007, and currently serves as Chair of its Alumni Association.
